Don’t miss this session about the current challenges and available tools related to pavement management. As a partner with the US Army Corps of Engineers Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL), the American Public Works Association is a support and distribution point for the PAVER Sustainable Management System. Potential and current users will be interested in this brief introduction and discussion of recent updates and the benefits of using the PAVER system. In addition to a brief overview of PAVER, the session will include a presentation from Horry County South Carolina. County Engineer Andy Markunas will provide insight on how the County utilizes PAVER data, establishes best practices for maintenance and rehabilitation, and advocates for funding. Following the presentations, time will be provided for attendees to ask questions and explore options that can assist in applying effective management principles to their own organizations.

Learning Objectives:

1. Explore the life cycle approach to pavement management.

2. Evaluate the return on investment of using PAVER tools and practices.

3. Interact with other pavement management professionals and discover ways to improve your existing practices.
