After large-scale disasters involving buildings, bridges, and critical urban infrastructure, assessing their damage and safety is one of the most important first steps to disaster recovery. People are afraid to return to damaged homes, offices, and public spaces. ATC 29-45 and Cal/OES SAP training is critical for our nation's disaster preparedness.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Acquire the knowledge on how to perform post-disaster safety evaluations of facilities and infrastructure.
  2. Inspire community leaders on how to establish public works post-disaster response programs to improve the disaster resilience of the communities that they serve.
  3. Inspect public works facilities and infrastructure for safety and serviceability following large scale disasters.
