When will the supply chain stabilize? What is causing all of this disruption? What does this mean to public works? Since 2020, “supply chain disruption” has become a familiar phrase by people even outside of the industry. The massive amounts of volatility experienced globally by the supply chain disruptions in 2019-2021 continue to affect our daily lives. Many ask will this ever end; will the supply chain ever stabilize? Great questions. This presentation will briefly introduce supply chain disruption and introduce a new publicly available supply chain stability index. This session will also suggest how understanding the current stability level of the supply chain can help plan your current and future projects and buffer some of the effects from instability. After this session, participants will be able to:
• Define supply chain disruption and key variables to stability.
• Analyze the supply chain stability index and what insight it can provide.
• Use supply chain best practices for better project planning.
