Needham started a succession planning program in 2019 that has resulted in over 20 promotions within an organization of approximately 150 people. It has implemented new strategies for education, training, and development to try and grow the workforce of tomorrow, while being in a geographically expensive area where there is a skills gap in the public works field. This was all done in a highly unionized environment with a staff on the precipice of huge turnover.

After this session, participants will be better able to:
• Identify internal talent to grow within the organization without building resentment.
• Provide training programs and incentives to identify talent to move up within their organization.
• Promote flexibility with positions and staff to ensure that their organization’s needs are being met into the future.
