Jared Shilhanek is the Chief Growth Officer and leads the in-house Marketing and Communications team in the association’s print, digital, video, advertising, social media, and public relations efforts, the Membership and Engagement team in the association’s membership recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts, and finally, the Chapter Services team in the association’s effort to provide resources and support to 62 chapters across North America.
Jared also leads the association’s growth efforts, working across all APWA departments to foster internal alignment and support expansion as international, domestic, and corporate opportunities are identified.
In his time at APWA, he’s overseen the association’s promotion of educational offerings, international conferences and events, APWA Press publications, public visibility campaigns, and more.
He believes that strong communication, creativity, and teamwork are the fundamental building blocks of any marketing plan. Jared holds a BA in marketing with an emphasis on advertising from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. He is an Oxford comma enthusiast, avid golfer, and enjoys taking on DIY projects with his fiancé.
