The Government tabled their response on June 8 to a House of Commons Order Paper Question from NDP Infrastructure and Communities Critic MP Bonita Zarrillo. The question was structured in four parts on the amount, measures taken to prevent renovictions, tracking of number of evictions, and measures to ensure tenants accommodation during renovation.
The Government indicated that there has been one investment made towards building retrofits to multi-unit residential buildings, operated by Avenue Living, who manages properties is Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Bank has committed $129,871,754.71 but no funds have been transferred yet. With regard to the remaining three parts of the question, the Government noted that the Bank does not track evictions triggered by building renovation projects.
