Providing field staff with the ability to update asset information improves data quality, analysis, decision-making, and action. Hear how the City of Carlsbad public works engineering, technicians, and field teams share techlogy in the office and the field to leverage each others’ kwledge to improve asset information. In order to leverage the kwledge of field staff who have eyes on the asset, they need applications that allow them to suggest updates to the asset inventory. In addition, backend data quality assurance tools allow quick and effective review of office updates before submission to the system of record. This session will provide participants with ideas on leveraging tools like ArcGIS Field Maps and ArcGIS Enterprise to support better asset information. Examples of improving pavement marking, signs, stormwater, wastewater, facility equipment, bike rack, and pedestrian head asset inventory and condition assessments will be shared. After this session, participants will be able to:
• Develop field and office workflows to improve asset information.
• Implement ArcGIS Field Maps and a versioned field data service to reduce the time it takes to review and update asset information.
• Understand how to create and deploy effective mobile field applications connected to the enterprise asset system of record.
