Winters can be grueling and relentless for our staff and front-line employees. There are many late nights and long hours we expect our employees to work. These often inconvenient hours can take a toll on not only our employee’s health and wellness but also the overall performance of the organization. Most employees and organizations have set up driver performance training but have failed to educate their employees on strategies to protect their health and wellness. Lessons learned from health concerns like COVID-19 inspired The Village of Buffalo Grove to establish a Health and Wellness Committee aimed at educating our staff with strategies to increase their performance through education on improved health and wellness. Education topics include: mental health, diet, exercise, flexibility, mindfulness, meditation, proper sleep, financial health, and even driving posture. This session will cover important topics in health and wellness as well as strategies for establishing an employee-driven health and wellness committee aimed at improving the lives of front-line employees. Drivers and organizations that want to improve their overall and long-term performance would greatly benefit from this session.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be better able to:

• Promote health and wellness throughout their organization.
• Implement health and wellness strategies for increasing sustained driver performance.
• Explain the importance of health and wellness over the course of an entire career.
