Municipalities of all sizes are facing challenges with in-house CDL training programs due to the new Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulation. So, what is it? Why is it impacting your organization today? And, frankly, what can you do about it? As of February 7, 2022, compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA’s) ELDT rule is required for any individual who wants to: Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for the first time; Upgrade an existing Class B CDL to a Class A CDL; or Obtain a passenger (P), school bus (S), or hazmat (H) endorsement for the first time. The presenter will walk you through these new requirements.
At the conclusion of this session participants will be better able to:
• Develop an understanding of the new Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulation.
• Evaluate tools that will help them to continue or implement their in-house commercial driver’s license (CDL) training.
• Determine the best training solution to fit their particular needs.
