FHWA’s new requirements for assessing retroreflectivity will be presented, and the most cost-effective methods for agencies to be in compliance will be discussed. New and existing techlogies for assessing retroreflectivity of pavement markings and signs will be presented. Vehicle-based data acquisition systems will be discussed, as well as manual methods.
At the conclusion of this session participants will be better able to:
• Select the most cost-effective approach for complying with FHWA’s new retroreflectivity requirements.
• Differentiate between the different systems available for assessing pavement marking retroreflectivity.
• Develop practical, cost-effective lane marking and sign reflectivity management programs.
