Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to fundamentally transform how work gets done. A recent study by Forbes found that nearly half of all current tasks and skills in the workforce will longer be needed within three to five years. The conclusion: AI has the ability to augment and exponentially enhance the productivity of an existing workforce—but only if that workforce can adopt AI successfully. Techlogy adoption is t easy or automatic, and leaders who can guide their teams and organizations during the techlogy revolution will differentiate themselves from everyone else. This session will provide a primer on AI in public works and will focus on key leadership practices that help achieve successful techlogy adoption. What works, what doesn’t, what increases the speed of adoption, and what slows it down will all be shared. Core concepts include barriers to change, the big seven elements of successful change, the importance of andragogy in change planning, and how to quarantine the resistance contagion.
At the conclusion of this session participants will be better able to:
• Plan a future adoption of new techlogy and/or processes and how artificial intelligence (AI) is different from other techlogies.
• Lead their workforce in the adoption of new techlogy.
• Identify resistance behavior “early indicators” to allow for better training and leadership support.
