Minnesota agencies will share examples of partnerships leveraging private investment, and innovative branding and public outreach for projects that have met with great success.

(1) The Minneapolis Department of Public Works uses a variety of public/private partnerships including Business Improvement or Special Service Districts, as well as collaborative partnerships with residents or neighborhood organizations to enable and encourage millions of dollars of community investment.

(2) The City of Richfield has a comprehensive marketing and public engagement plan (dubbed Sweet Streets) to get people excited and better informed about public works projects.

(3) With these types of innovative approaches to project delivery come complications that potentially have ethical implications. Hear our thoughts on how we manage these complicated public/private interactions not only effectively, but at the same time in an ethical manner.
