This presentation will examine various alternative fuels and the pros and cons of each. One speaker will discuss the benefits of bio-methanol and bio-dimethyl. Another will examine the impacts of current biodiesel mandates and offer tips for modifying biodiesel blend requirements to lower fuel and maintenance costs. A third speaker will discuss the options available for best utilizing biogas resources from landfills, wastewater treatment plants and the policy-driven benefit options for RINs for transportation fuels.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the effects of biodiesel upon late model diesel engines and fuel systems.
  2. Compare the true costs of current alternative fuels, including bio-methanol and bio-dimethyl.
  3. Identify and evaluate the various options available to maximize benefits from using existing biogas resources as a fleet vehicle fuel, a pipeline injection revenue stream, or CHP / electrical generation option.
