Both Canada and the United States have infrastructure and public works challenges to address, and while the systems of government are different, both countries have a real need for public works professionals to be actively involved in advocacy. During this program, participants will hear from APWA and CPWA leaders and members about why and how they serve as public works advocates, as well as learn about resources available for Chapters to get involved and spread the word! It is so important that policymakers at all levels of government hear from public works advocates so the existing infrastructure challenges are addressed in an informed and effective manner. Learn the how and why of being THE leading voice for public works.

After attending this program, participants will be better able to: – Enhance their communications skills as a public works advocate. – Discover ideas for empowering their Chapters to engage in advocacy activities. – Identify and utilize resources available from both APWA and CPWA.
