The values and assumptions that the employees in your organization share are kwn as culture. Does your organization have a toxic culture? Would you like to improve it? Having addressed leadership behaviors in 2021’s series on Learning Leadership and management skills in 2022’s series on Mastering Management, and supervisor how to’s in the 2023 series Successful Supervision, the APWA Leadership & Management Committee w aims to define what culture is and how to improve it. APWA’s culture framework defines those behaviors into four functions and this session will dive into what those are and how to implement them into your own workplace. The five functions are: Define the Vision Lead Courageously Establish an Environment of Accountability Build Trusting Teams
After this session participants will be able to:
– Identify the four essential functions of culture.
– Examine one’s own workplace culture for improvement.
– Use the four functions of culture to improve one’s own culture in their workplace.
