As Information techlogy (IT) and operational techlogy (OT) have become more interconnected, public works entities have become highly desirable targets for cyberattacks. But as we’ve seen, threats to public works’ cybersecurity can also mean threats to physical security. When the water we drink could be affected, the electricity that services our homes could be interrupted, or when work on a utility or road must cease due to a breach or hacking event, it is imperative that organizations be prepared for a cyber incident. Please join Deputy Director Nitin Natarajan of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency for a fireside chat with Gary Losier from APWA as they discuss the complex threat landscape facing critical infrastructure, highlight best practices to prepare for cyberattacks, and share free resources as we navigate our shared and ever-changing cyber ecosystem. After this session, participants will be able to:
1. Achieve an understanding of the threat landscape concerning public works entities and their critical infrastructure sectors.
2. Identify resources and measures public works professionals can use during a crisis.
3. Recognize opportunities to partner with the federal government to bolster our cyber ecosystem.
