U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein passed away on Sept. 29.
Feinstein represented California since 1992 and was the state’s senior Senator since 1993. Before her time in the Senate, she served as the mayor of San Francisco from 1978 through 1988. To fill Feinstein’s vacancy, California Governor Gavin Newsom will appoint a successor.
