Environment and Climate Canada posted a 60-day consultation starting May 27th to amend the Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations. The proposed amendments would allow regulatees (owners and operators of wastewater systems that collect and treat sewage primarily from household activities) another opportunity to receive an extension to upgrade the system, expand temporary bypass authorizations, and address administrative and operational challenges.
